ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS: BUNCO
Description: If you can hold 3 die(dice), drop them and count your points, then this game is very easy to play. Everyone at your table of 4 will help count your score. This game provides lots of laughter and a great chance to enjoy the company of other members. |
Each table has 4 participants (2 sets of partners). Partners sit across from one another. Each table is numbered with one table designated as the head table (#1).
Each player at a table takes turns rolling all three dice until a set of partners at the head table (#1) accumulates 21 points, ending the round.
There are 6 rounds with Round 1 trying to roll three 1's, Round 2 trying to roll three 2s, and so forth for each Round.
Objective: score points by rolling the number that matches the current round.
Scoring: the first player rolls all 3 dice & scores as follows:
- 1 point for each die showing the current round's number
- 5 points for three of a kind that is NOT the current round's number
- 21 points (a Bunco) for three of the current round's number (example three 2's in Round 2)
-- if you score a Bunco, call out Bunco and receive the stuffed die
- a Baby Bunco is three of the same number but not three of the specific round number (add up the value of the three dice)
The player continues to roll the dice as long as at least 1 point is scored
If the player scores 0 points, that person's turn ends and the dice are passed to the next person
A round ends when a team at the head table reaches 21 points or more.
- the head table then rings the bell to signal the round has ended
- all tables stop play after the current player rolling the dice finishes their turn
End of round scoring:
Partners: if your team has more points than the other team at your table, Record a Win; if less points than the other Team, Record a Loss
Individuals: record the number of Baby Buncos you individually rolled; record the number of Buncos you individually scored
At the end of the round:
- winning partners stay at the same table, while the losing partners move to the next numbered table
Tallying up your scores at the end of the 6 Rounds:
- # of wins & # of loses
- Buncos you rolled
- Baby Buncos you rolled
